Recalibration programs can be confusing and stressful. Do you need assistance understanding the rehab process? Our admissions navigators can help you understand the process and answer your questions.

1: Intake – Creating A Customized Health Care Plan

Admissions And Assessment

There is no single process that every rehab facility uses, but it is most likely that you will meet with a professional during the intake process to discuss treatment options and decide which one is right for you. Your medical, emotional, social, and other functioning will be assessed to devise a personal treatment plan.

The intake may include a physical examination, psychological assessment, or psychosocial assessment. These assessments will provide valuable information that will enable the program to best tailor its treatment plan for you. This includes information about your personal drug use history, family history of addiction, as well as financial arrangements.

Dual Diagnosis, Co-Occurring Disorders

To provide the highest level of care and support for you, you should discuss any health issues or co-occurring disorders. Dual diagnosis treatment is for people with mental illnesses and a SUD.

In the United States, there has been a divide between addiction treatment and mental healthcare services. The people who’ve been diagnosed with dual disorders are one group that has fallen under the hammer of this divide.

2: Safely Removing Addictive Substances From Your Bodily

Certain types of dependence on physical substances can cause withdrawal symptoms that can be very unpleasant and/or deadly. The withdrawal symptoms that can result from certain types of physical substance dependence can be quite unpleasant and/or dangerous.

The detox process will be performed under the supervision of a rehabilitation center. In some cases, medication may be prescribed to reduce withdrawal symptoms caused by certain drugs like heroin or prescription opioids.

3: Rehabilitation – Building The Foundation For Long-Term Treatment Efforts

It is crucial to understand all options when selecting a treatment option.

Inpatient, Outpatient & Partial Hospitalization

Inpatient treatment programs are designed to take those with SUDs out of their current lives. This is done by taking them from their home environment and placing them in a treatment center that provides 24/7 care from staff.

If you have significant family obligations or work, such as caring for parents or children, outpatient care can help. It is not a great option for serious long-term addictions and those with dual diagnoses.

Partially hospitalization programs (PHPs) are hospital-based programs of outpatient drug rehab. Although a PHP may be offered in the same environment as an inpatient program, the care provided is not the same. PHPs can be tailored to the specific needs of teens and adults.

4: Recovery And Aftercare. Continuing Healing For Long Term Recovery

Even after completing their initial rehabilitation program they are still not done with their recovery work. The patient will first meet with counselors to create a plan of care after they have completed their addiction treatment program.

Although it is important to create a solid aftercare plan, individual components may vary.
